Dick’s Sporting Goods and the Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation have committed a total of $2 million to rebuild and refurbish youth sports programs and facilities across the Gulf Coast, Florida and other states impacted by the hurricanes that struck in the fall of 2017. Since Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, Dick’s has provided nearly 200 youth sports teams in Texas and Florida with the necessary funding to continue to play. An example of programs supported by the company’s Sports Matter Relief Fund is the reVision FC soccer team, based in Houston. The youth team is composed of African refugees and provides players with a community and home, empowering them with skills and confidence for the future. A $120,000 grant from the Sports Matter Relief Fund will help keep the team on the field.
